Free AI UI/UX Tools: Credits, Editing and Export Limits

Compare Uizard, Visily and Figma's current Design agent beta by free generation, editable work, export and sharing. Test one booking flow before relying on a free plan.

How to choose

On this page

Free AI UI/UX tools can help you explore a small interface, but free editing, free generation and free delivery are different offers. Start by choosing the artifact: a reviewable mockup, an interactive prototype, an editable design file or application code. This shortlist compares Uizard, Visily and the current Figma Design agent beta at those boundaries. It does not rank their output quality or promise that a generated screen is a working application.

Read the free plan as a set of separate limits

A usable free workflow must cover the whole task, not just the first prompt. Check how much generation is included, what remains editable, how many projects or boards can stay active, which export is available and who can see the work. A generous image allowance does not help if the required editable handoff is paid.

Write down the point where the work must leave the tool. If the recipient needs a screenshot for discussion, a limited image export may be adequate. If they need reusable components or code, verify that exact delivery path. The UI/UX directory includes broader catalog options; a freemium badge alone is not proof that their AI features meet this brief for free.

Uizard fits a small, tightly scoped mockup trial

Uizard's current Free plan lists three AI generations per month, two projects and Autodesigner 1.5. Its comparison table limits image/PDF export to 1x resolution, while developer handoff is advertised with Pro. These are documented entitlements, not tested account results.

That makes preparation valuable. Use the limited generations to establish a direction for a defined flow rather than repeatedly asking for a generic β€œmodern app.” Afterward, inspect and edit the result deliberately. A project can look complete while missing an empty state, validation message or a way to return from the next screen.

The Uizard profile provides the tool context. Before inviting stakeholders, confirm the actual sharing mode and what they can inspect without an account or paid seat. Do not assume a public preview has the privacy characteristics required for confidential product work.

Visily separates recurring credits from its first-month allowance

Visily's pricing lists Starter with two editable boards and 2,500 elements per board; Figma and code export are paid features. The credit guide distinguishes 600 workspace credits in the first month from 300 in later months. Do not describe the introductory allowance as the ongoing monthly budget. Starter JPG, PNG and PDF exports are limited to 1Γ— resolution with a watermark, and private folders and boards are not included. Those limits matter if the meeting needs an unbranded handout or confidential board.

Credits are not directly comparable with another vendor's generation count. Different operations consume different amounts, and a screen may require revision. Plan around the actions you need and retain enough allowance to correct an important misunderstanding. A one-shot homepage that exhausts the budget may leave the more useful error state unexplored.

For a team discussion, Visily's board-based work can be a candidate if the free export and collaboration limits fit the meeting. If a Figma-editable handoff is mandatory, include that paid boundary in the decision before building the board. The Visily profile is a discovery entry, not evidence that every listed integration is free.

Figma's current beta is not a permanent all-AI-free plan

Figma's beta documentation says the agent in Figma Design is available across plans and does not consume AI credits during beta. The agent guide specifies that making edits requires a Full seat and edit access to the file; other seat or permission combinations can converse without modifying the design. Check your actual account's editing access; access to an agent conversation is not automatically permission to change the design.

This condition should not be expanded into unlimited use, permanent free access or a claim that every Figma AI product shares the same terms. Figma Design, Make and individual tools are distinct surfaces. A beta can be useful for exploration without being the right dependency for a delivery date that assumes today's access will remain unchanged.

Use the Figma AI profile when your next question is which surface and permission model applies. For this shortlist, the essential decision is whether you can obtain and maintain the editable artifact you need, not whether an AI button appears somewhere in the workspace.

Test a booking flow with one difficult state

Use a fictional appointment service with no real customer data. Define three screens: choose a time, enter details and confirm. Add one deliberate complication: the selected time becomes unavailable before confirmation. This original proposed exercise exposes whether the tool helps you explain the user journey rather than only decorate its happy path.

Ask how the user learns that the slot is unavailable, whether their entered details survive and how they choose another time. Check the labels, navigation and reading order. Then inspect the same layout with longer text and a narrower viewport. A plausible generated arrangement is not evidence that the implemented interface is accessible or that the backend handles a booking race.

Keep a short issue list with a proposed fix for each problem. Some fixes should be manual edits, not another generation. This preserves the scarce allowance for changes that benefit from synthesis while leaving precise corrections under your control. No version of this exercise was executed for this article.

Define the handoff before upgrading

Give the recipient the actual exported artifact and a state map. Ask them to identify the intended transition, the failure case and which parts are editable. If the export is an image, label it as a visual reference. If code is provided by a paid feature, it still needs engineering review, data handling and functional verification before production use.

Check confidentiality and sharing on a disposable example before using client material. Free access does not mean private storage, and a private file does not automatically establish private AI conversation settings. Keep input permissions and provider processing terms separate from the design's visual quality.

Choose by the next accepted artifact

Evaluate Uizard for a constrained mockup trial, Visily for a board-based discussion within its recurring allowance, and Figma's current Design agent beta where actual edit access and editable design work fit. None is declared the easiest, most accurate or universally best. The free boundary may be sufficient for learning and a small concept review while still falling short of a professional handoff.

Sources were checked September 12, 2026. No account entitlements, generated screens, exports or application behavior were tested. Recheck the volatile plan and beta conditions before committing the team, and judge the trial by a recipient-accepted artifact rather than how impressive the first screen looks.

Options by deliverable

The order follows the workflow, not a measured quality, popularity or benchmark ranking.

Uizard

Small mockup trial

Free plan: 3 generations per month, 2 projects and 1Γ— image/PDF export. Developer handoff is paid.

Visily

Board-based discussion

600 first-month credits, then 300 per month. Free image/PDF export is 1Γ— with watermark; no private boards. Figma/code export is paid.

Figma Design agent beta

Editable design exploration with actual access

The current credit-free beta is not unlimited or permanent. Agent edits require a Full seat and edit access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are free AI generations the same as free code export?
No. Generation, editing and delivery have separate plan boundaries. Uizard developer handoff and Visily code/Figma export are not established as free.
Is Visily's 600-credit allowance ongoing?
The official guide gives 600 workspace credits for the first month and 300 from the second onward. Recheck current account entitlements.
Is Figma AI permanently unlimited for free?
No such claim is supported. Current Design agent beta is credit-free but has limits and access requirements; other Figma products have their own terms.
