About

Subframe was started in 2022 in San Francisco by Irvin Zhan (CEO) and Filip Skrzesinski, out of a frustration familiar to anyone who has shipped software: designs made in a pure mockup tool never quite match the code that engineers end up writing, and the two drift apart over time. Subframe's answer is to make the design surface and the code the same artifact. You design in a drag-and-drop visual editor, but instead of drawing rectangles you assemble real, professionally crafted components, and underneath every element is production-ready React and Tailwind CSS. Engineers don't reinterpret a picture — they pull the exact code through the Subframe CLI, so what the designer built is what ships. The design system is treated as a single source of truth: a theme editor controls tokens and styling globally, and documentation is generated automatically, which removes the manual overhead teams usually carry in tools like Storybook. Its most current differentiator is deep integration with AI coding agents. Subframe exposes an MCP server (plus agent Skills) that connects to Cursor and Claude Code, letting an agent sync your components, export a page's code, and generate new design concepts from inside the IDE with full context of your codebase — closing the loop between visual design and AI-assisted development. Pricing is straightforward and per-team, seat-based: a Free plan at $0 covering one project, five pages, one prototype, limited AI, and 24-hour version history; a Pro plan at $29 per editor per month with unlimited projects, pages, prototypes, unlimited AI, seven-day history, and custom fonts; and a Custom plan that adds component import and dedicated support. Viewers are free on every plan, so stakeholders can review without adding cost. Subframe fits product designers and design engineers who live close to code and want their design system to be the real thing rather than a facsimile of it.

Uizard

4.3

Uizard is an AI-powered UI/UX design platform that democratizes the design process by enabling anyone to create professional-looking app and website designs through multiple innovative input methods. The platform's standout capability is its ability to transform hand-drawn sketches into polished digital wireframes and mockups using AI image recognition. Users can sketch a rough interface layout on paper, photograph it, and Uizard automatically converts it into a clean, editable digital design with proper UI components and spacing. Beyond sketch-to-design, Uizard offers text-to-design generation where users describe their desired interface in natural language and the AI produces a complete screen layout, and screenshot-to-design conversion that transforms existing app or website screenshots into editable design files. The Autodesigner feature generates multi-screen app prototypes from a single text description, creating complete user flows with navigation and interactive elements. Uizard includes a library of pre-built templates and UI components covering mobile apps, web applications, tablets, and desktop interfaces. The platform supports interactive prototyping with clickable connections between screens. Uizard targets product managers, startup founders, developers, and business stakeholders who need to create and iterate on UI designs quickly without waiting for a dedicated designer. The free plan allows up to three projects with limited AI features, while the Pro plan at $19 per month per user and the Business plan at $39 per month per user unlock unlimited projects, advanced AI features, and team collaboration tools. For non-designers who need to rapidly prototype interface ideas, Uizard bridges the gap between rough concepts and presentable designs.
